A huge thank you to everyone who helped bring the joy and spirit of Christmas to all the children this week.  Thank you to those who helped set up the hall and put it all back together again for the Christmas show.  Thank you to Santa and his fantastic elves for visiting us today, it was a lovely surprise. A huge congratulations to Aoibheann Murtagh who won 1st Prize in the Under 10 section of the Goresbridge Credit Union Art Competition.  She also won 1st Prize in the Regional section and has now been put forward to the national competition.  Well done Aoibheann, what a great achievement, we are very proud of you.    

Newtown Hall hosted a chess tournament with fantastic chess players from Glynn, Borris and Newtown taking part.  Great fun was had and we say a huge thank you to Mr. Smith in Glynn for organising and running such a lovely event.  Well done to all our wonderful chess players.

A huge thank you to Natalie and Caroline for helping us make our Christmas Wreaths during Gardening Club on Thursday.  The children really enjoyed it and had a beautiful wreath going home for Christmas.

A huge congratulations to Ruby and Jack on their Student of the Week awards this week, you both made a great effort and we were all delighted to see all your hard work.

A huge well done to Fiadh and Eliza on their Student of the Week awards, well done girls, very well deserved for you both!

Our boys indoor hurling team took part in a blitz in Bahana with Drummond, Ballymurphy, Glynn and Borris, they were very unlucky not to qualify for the next round but they worked hard as a team and we are very proud of their efforts.

We had our annual Movie Night last night up in the hall.  All the Christmas pyjamas were out in style and the everybody had a great time.     

Congratulations to James and Rían on their Student of the Week awards this week, you are both trying very hard, keep up the good work!

Well done to our girls indoor hurling team that took part in a blitz in Bahana on Wednesday.  Unfortunately they didn’t qualify for the next stage but they showed great teamwork, commitment and spirit throughout and we are very proud of them.
